I made the back and ribs of the instrument shown above out of this tree, bought in 1990. A wonderful tree, grown in its ideal micro-climate, in the center of a valley, constantly exposed to the sun. Its acoustic qualities are excellent. From this tree, I made 25 one-piece and 30 two-piece backs.
